The Bag That Started With a Walk

It was a Sunday morning in 2022. Our founder, Nitesh, was taking his usual walk through the neighbourhood when he spotted something that stopped him cold — a stray cow chewing on a plastic bag tangled around a pile of rotting waste.

It wasn’t the first time he’d seen it. But that morning, something shifted.

“We all know plastic is bad. But we keep using it because there’s no real alternative that actually works,” he thought.

Nitesh came home, sat at the kitchen table, and started sketching ideas. He reached out to material science experts who had spent years researching plant-based polymers. The conversation that followed lasted four hours.

Two years, dozens of failed prototypes, and one stubborn belief later — Planet Soul was born.

Our bags are made from natural corn starch, break down completely in under 6 months, and leave behind nothing but water and CO₂. No microplastics. No toxic residue. No guilt.

We didn’t start Planet Soul to be trendy. We started it because we genuinely believe the everyday choices we make — even something as small as a garbage bag — can either harm the planet or heal it.

We chose to heal it.
